New Look
By Michael on September 14, 2007 at 1:53 am | In Blog Posts |I’ve been playing with the look and organization of the blog a bit. Please let me know what you think! It’s a bit of a work in progress but some attention has been long overdue.
And really, in all seriousness, we truly do have a new show almost all set to go!
(Travis? Travis, can you hear me?)

Incidentally, while doing the updates I needed to get our feed to validate and that meant fixing some incorrect dates. Even though the publication dates of those are well in the past, some RSS readers are flagging those posts as recent. Some some old stuff is showing up as news.

Couple of things about the site.
It’s HARD to read. Too Dark and colors blend in too much. Also the forgot password and profile update have some issues. The profile updates but does not go to a different page so it leads you to believe it has not. Took me a couple of times to get it corrected.

Thanks, spent1, I’ll take a look at those things. I may be trying out a few different themes here and I appreciate the feedback.

I like the colors. The important stuff is readable, and the not quite as important stuff doesn’t jump out and grab attention. The background is great.
My concern is that it will be harder to know when comments have been added. But I did get all those updates in the RSS feed.
My trouble getting my password changed was finding the Profile (clicked on my name). Maybe add that in the “Meta” links.

Cool, glad to see you in the comments, too! Now how about a blog post?

I’m dense and don’t see where to create a new blog post. As soon as I post this comment, I’ll find it.

I’m reading this on a different computer, operating system, and monitor. The font and colors *are* hard to read if you don’t smooth the edges of the screen font. It’s really spacy in a bad sort of way. Ouch!
On Windows, go to your Computer, Control Panel, Display, Appearance, Effects, and choose Clear Type for the smooth edges for screen fonts. It’s substantially improved.
