Dwarf Galaxy
From Slackerpedia Galactica
A Dwarf Galaxy, not surprisingly, is a small galaxy that contains a couple of billion stars, whereas our own contains a couple of hundred billion. A dwarf galaxy is like the little brother or sister of a normal galaxy. They always like to follow their bigger, cooler sibling and the bigger galaxy will eventually beat up its smaller sibling. Although it would be more accurate to say the larger galaxy almost eats its dwarf galaxy. Dwarf galaxies can be pulled apart by the gravity of a huge galaxy. These small galaxies eventually merge with bigger families of stars. The best known dwarf galaxies that orbit the Milky Way are the Sagittarius Dwarf Galaxy and the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds. Another famous dwarf galaxy is M32, which is in the process of merging with the Andromeda Galaxy.
