Uranus as Captured by Voyager 2.
Uranus is the seventh planet from the Sun, a gas giant, and the third largest planet in the Solar System. Sir William Herschel formally discovered the planet on March 13, 1781; the other planets (from Mercury out to Saturn) have been known since ancient times, and Uranus' discovery expanded the boundaries of the solar system for the first time in modern human history. It was also the first planet discovered using technology (a telescope) rather than the naked eye. Uranus is tilted 98 degrees on its axis which is basically right angled from where it should be. Uranus has 27 known moons with Titania being the largest.

And you just make sure you pronounce the planet's name right!!!

Trivia

  • Uranus was initially known as "George" (at least to some of its British Friends).
  • Astronomers renamed Uranus to Urectum in 2620 "to end that stupid joke once and for all." (source: Futurama)
