If you really want to give some money to an appropriate astronomical web page then go to the slacker astronomy web page http://www.slackerastronomy.org and look for the donation button at the bottom left of the page. They may end up spending the money on giant teddy bears and pink flamingo lawn ornaments, but these could turn out to be vital to the next big break through in astronomy.
