http://kicp.uchicago.edu/~brant/movies/large_galaxy.mov
A simulation of gas in a large galaxy, modeled after one of the largest disk galaxies known, modeled with a new treatment of the interstellar medium and star formation that accounts for the abundance of molecular gas in the ISM and how UV light from young stars can destroy molecular hydrogen. The color shows the gas temperature with the image intensity tracks the projected gas density.
http://kicp.uchicago.edu/~brant/movies/dwarf.mov
A simulation of gas in a very small dwarf galaxy, modeled after one of the most gas-rich (99% gas ) disk galaxies known. The same treatment of the ISM is used as with the more massive galaxy.
http://kicp.uchicago.edu/~brant/movies/dm_movie.mov
A small volume within a dark-matter only simulation rotated to highlight small dark matter substructures within the cosmic web. This animation is generated with foreshortening to give a 3-d feel. The DM particles are color coded by their binding energies, with the image intensity tracing the projected mass density along the line of sight.
