This is the last of the formal interviews from our week at the Kavli Institute For Cosmological Physics at the University of Chicago. Dr. Lucy Fortson is the V.P For Research at the Adler Planetarium. She is also a member of the VERITAS team, which is operating a gamma ray telescope in Arizona. In this interview she describes VERITAS, gamma rays, and cosmic rays. Then she talks about the role of astronomical research in a planetarium which emcompasses history of astronomy, astronomy education and hard core astronomy research. We had to cut the interview short due to pending appointments all around, but we plan to continue the conversation with another interview.
