Yo all, I used to be a planet but I got demoted to dwarf planet status. But I'm not that saddened because I still have my buddies Charon, Nix and Hydra.
Some never liked me because I have a strange orbit. For example it is highly inclined above the ecliptic plane and is partially inside Neptune's orbit. Big deal.
Now I'm waiting for New Horizons to steal the show again.
My distant relative Eris has never had Planet status. Ha, I'm one up on you!
New Mexico, the last home of the dude who discovered me passed a resolution to slight the IAU.
The minor planet center lists this object as 134340 Pluto.
Some people, including Neil deGrasse Tyson, call Pluto "King of the Comets".
