Nobel Prize
From Slackerpedia Galactica
The Nobel Prize is a fancy award given in honor of the guy who invented dynamite (not Napoleon, the other one).
In 2006, the award for Physics was given to John C. Mather (USA) and George F. Smoot for their work in characterizing the cosmic microwave background and cementing its place alongside the Big Bang theory.
But it doesn't hold a candle to the 1912 award for Physics, given to Nils Gustaf Dalen for his pioneering work in the world of lighthouses and bouys.
