A Neutron Star is a dense star that is the remnant of a star which exploded as a supernova. It is called a neutron star because it is thought to mainly consist of neutrons. Another way to think of a Neutron Star is that it is the nucleus of a single (very large) atom. It is so dense that one teaspoon of a neutron star would weigh as much as the Earth. A neutron star can spin rapidly and produces radio pulses, which is creatively called a Pulsar.
