Nebulae are vast areas of gas and dust permeating the Universe, not unlike certain politicians and reality TV/media personalities.

Emission Nebulae are areas where the light comes from within the nebula itself (much like politicians).

Reflection Nebulae shine from the light of stars whose light "reflects" off of the nebula (like Tom Cruise's ego).
