Mars is the fourth planet from the sun. Mars has two moons, Phobos and Deimos. It is nicknamed the red planet because of the red color of the surface caused by iron oxidizing into iron oxide ("rust"). Early in April 2005, evidence of liquid water was found on Mars. [1] Many feel there could be life on Mars, while others doubt there is such life. Even more people don't care.

Mars is also a popular snack amongst European teens.

Mars actually once teemed with life. Giant green Tharks, human-type being with red or yellow skin, White Apes, etc. At the time, Mars was called "Barsoom" by the natives. A famous earthman named John Carter spent most of his life there.

In addition, another famous Martian - Marvin - tried to destroy the Earth with an Illudium PU-36 Explosive Space Modulator.
