Lupus is a southern Constellation, one of the 88 modern constellations and one of the 48 written about by Ptolemy.

The constellation has no extremely bright stars but contains several second and third magnitude stars as well as a number of binary stars.

Lupus is the Latin word for wolf, however it is not known if the constellation is hungry like the wolf.
