Killer Asteroids

Killer asteroids are really big chunks of rock or metal that are believed to make really big craters and kick up a lot of heated dust which could cause human and animal life to die as the sunlight is blocked and food chains fall apart. Don't forget the animals and humans that are nearby will get grilled.

It is believed that a killer asteroid is what caused the dinosaurs to go extinct since the discovery of a 160 kilometer crater in South America.

Whenever any of these big boys gets too close, they are an easy way for astronomers to get on the news and try to find dates. Asteroids that even get near Earth usually receive as much media attention as a minor celebrity's weight gain and go away quicker despite the former's potential for greater impact on society.
