Helioseismology
From Slackerpedia Galactica
Helioseismology is the study of pressure waves in the Sun. It is used to help determine the interior of the Sun without using X-Ray vision. Instead, helioseismologists look at how sound waves move through the Sun. The movements of these waves are affected by conditions inside the Sun, such as changes in density. By looking at how the waves move through the Sun, astronomers can predict what the Sun is made of. Although it doesn't tell us exactly what the inside of the Sun is like, helioseismology seems to rule out the possibility of it being made of tomato sauce or steamed broccoli.
