Edmond Halley

Very famous Enlightenment-era English astronomer who found Halley's Comet, Eta Carinae, and some other cool stuff.

Halley's comet was seen before and depicted on the Bayeaux Tapestry, a really long piece of cloth that chronicles the Norman conquest of England. The Normans didn't record a name at time, and neither did anybody else every 76 years when it reappeared, so Edmond Halley decided to steal the limelight when it came back again.

Edmond Halley should not be confused with Bill Halley and His Comets, a popular music beat combo.

I am a little stub.
