The European Space Agency (ESA) is a 17 European-nation organization, which is well known for the fingerprint logo (looks a bit like one, don't you think?). Its headquarters is based in Paris, France. They have jointly contributed to the famous Hubble Space Telescope and the Huygens probe which hitched a ride on the back of NASA's Cassini spacecraft.
Most countries of the European Union contribute in some way. The ESA also has an active astronaut corps, although they don't have any rockets themselves that can place humans into orbit.
