Declination

The north and south part of the Equatorial Coordinates. Declinations are given as positive and negative numbers between +90° and -90°, with positive being the northern half of the Celestial Sphere, 0° being the celestial equator, and negative being the southern half. Units are typically given in degrees, arcminutes, and arcseconds, or in decimal degrees.

Fun fact: the declination on the sky that passes directly overhead at any given moment is the same as your latitude. That's because celestial coordinates are a projection of Earth's coordinate system onto the sky, making it completely useless for anyone not on Earth.
