Chandra X-Ray Observatory

The Chandra X-Ray Observatory was put in orbit by the space shuttle in 1999. It is designed to observe X-rays wherever they can be found in the universe (except your doctors' office), such as the remnants of exploded stars (hollywood-type stars need not apply).
