About PodcastingWhat Is a Podcast A podcast is like an audio blog. Instead of reading it, you listen. The difference between a podcast and a regular webcast/Internet radio/etc. site is that a podcast can be setup to automagically download to your iPod on a schedule you choose. It is like a Tivo/DVR. Using a podcast reader (a.k.a. aggregators), you subscribe to a site (like ours). You then tell it when you want the reader to check the site for updates (like daily or weekly). It will check the site, download any new podcasts since the last check, then load it into your iPod or MP3 player of choice. So basically every day you have a new show ready and don't have to do a single thing. You don't have to use a podcasting program. Like we said at the top, you can just click on the MP3 link and play it on your computer if you want. Podcasting is in its infancy. Podcast readers still have a way to go in terms of development.
